My Bikes

I've been riding since about 1996 when I bought a Giant Prodigy Hybrid bike to help recover from a back injury at work. A hybrid has mountain style flat handlebars and canti-lever or linear pull (V) brakes along with 700c road style wheels. I used that to do some light road riding (25-50 miles) with a bike club that had just started in Longview. A few of the club members also mountain biked and asked if I'd like to try it. I wasn't too thrilled to try it at first but decided that it would be different to get deeper into the woods and forest that surrounds our little town.
So my first mountain bike trail was The Lewis River Trail in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, from Lower Falls to Curly Creek Falls, on a 700c by 35mm tire hybrid bicycle. I was one tired puppy, but with a smile from ear to ear. The addiction had begun.
I still have that Giant bike, but it's duties are exclusively road oriented now. Here is a listing of complete, ride-able bikes in the stable:
